Changes To Student And Graduate Visa Rules

The UK Government recently announced changes to the Student and Graduate Immigration Rules. Students that apply for the Graduate Immigration Route (GIR) from 1 January 2027 - which will include students starting January 2026 - will now be eligible for 18 months, rather than 24 months which is the current period.

There are also further updates to the Student Visa maintenance requirements from 11 November 2025, students will need to evidence:

• £1529 per month in London (up to a maximum of 9 months)
• £1171 per month outside of London (up to a maximum of 9 months)
