The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) has officially launched a new Master of Science in Global Health (MSGH) program, now available on the Partner Portal for upcoming applications. This innovative program is designed for students who aspire to make a meaningful impact on global health systems and address health challenges worldwide.

The MSGH program is a cohort-based, core-track graduate degree jointly offered by the UAB Heersink School of Medicine and the UAB School of Public Health. It aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and collaborative experience needed to address global health challenges and improve health outcomes across diverse populations.

Students will gain training in health equity, collaborative research, and transnational health practice, preparing them for careers in global health organizations, research institutions, NGOs, and public health agencies.

Unique Global Opportunity

A standout feature of the program is its international collaboration and exposure.

UAB is the only university in the United States that is a member of the Consortium for Global Health. Through this partnership, students may participate in an annual two-week international symposium hosted at partner institutions such as Manipal University in India or McMaster University in Canada.

Participants in the symposium will also receive a $3,000 stipend to help support their international travel expenses, giving students valuable global networking and learning opportunities.
