CoE Issuance & Admissions Process Update

Sydney Metropolitan Institute of Technology has introduced important updates to its Admissions and CoE (Confirmation of Enrolment) issuance process, effective immediately to support current recruitment needs while maintaining compliance standards.

1. Conditional CoE Issuance

Sydney Met will now issue Conditional CoEs to support student conversion in line with current market conditions.

  • All conditions must be fully met before enrolment (course commencement)
  • Applicable to all intakes until the end of 2026
  • Designed to provide flexibility while ensuring full compliance prior to study commencement

2. Conditional Offer Letters (Future Intakes)

  • Conditions must be satisfied before enrolment, not before CoE issuance
  • Allows students to secure early admission decisions while maintaining regulatory compliance
  • Supports smoother application processing for future intakes

3. Minimum CoE Deposit Requirements

Social Work Programs

(BSW, MSWQ, GCHCS → MSWQ)

  • $2,000 tuition fee deposit
  • $200 enrolment fee per course

All Other Courses (Business & IT)

(UCB, UCIT, BBUS, BIT, GCBA, GDBA, GCIT, GDIT, MBA, MIT)

  • $1,000 CoE deposit
  • $200 enrolment fee per course

4. Important Notes

  • Conditional CoEs are introduced to support recruitment flexibility, but strict compliance requirements apply
  • All conditions must be met before enrolment to maintain CoE validity
  • This policy is effective immediately and valid until December 2026, subject to review

Sydney Metropolitan Institute of Technology remains committed to providing a transparent, compliant, and student-focused admissions process while adapting to evolving international education needs.
