Cambridge International AS & A Levels – January 2027 Intake Now Open

UTS College is delighted to announce the successful welcome of its first Cambridge International AS & A Level cohort on 27 January. Following a strong inaugural intake, applications are now officially open for the January 2027 intake.

Students can once again apply for generous 50% and 100% Cambridge International scholarships, making this prestigious pathway even more accessible to high-achieving students.

Students receive a comprehensive academic experience, including:

Academic Requirements

  • Completion of Year 10 or equivalent
  • Strong passing grades in core academic subjects, including English
  • Certified copies of the three most recent school reports (in English)

English Language Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • AEAS score of 57 or above (strong upper intermediate range)
  • Minimum two years of schooling where all subjects (except languages) were taught in English
  • IELTS overall 5.5 (minimum 5.0 in each band)
  • TOEFL iBT 58 (minimum 16 in writing)
  • UTS College English AE3 (pass grade)
  • PTE Academic overall 46 (minimum 38 in each skill)
  • C1 Advanced overall 162 (no band less than 154)
  • C2 Proficiency overall 162 (no band less than 154)

 

Academic English (AE4 & AE5)

The Academic English program prepares students for the language and academic skills required for tertiary study at UTS College, UTS, and other universities. Students develop proficiency in:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Listening
  • Speaking

 

Study Mode & Learning Experience

  • Full-time, face-to-face on-campus delivery
  • Minimum 30 hours of classes per week (Monday–Friday)
  • Saturday morning activities for the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award

The program combines the Cambridge International curriculum with the UTS College Learning.Connected model, ensuring students are academically prepared for university-level study.

Assessment methods include:

  • Structured coursework preparing students for Cambridge public examinations
  • Academic English assessments across four core language skills
  • Diploma-style assessments aligned with first-year university standards
  • Group work and project-based assignments to develop university readiness

 

Subjects & Streams

Students select a stream and study three AS Level subjects in Year 1 and three A Level subjects in Year 2.

Commerce Stream

AS & A Level Subjects:

  • Mathematics
  • Accounting
  • Economics

IT Stream

AS & A Level Subjects:

  • Mathematics
  • Computer Science
  • Accounting or Physics

Engineering Stream

AS & A Level Subjects:

  • Mathematics
  • Computer Science
  • Physics

In addition, students complete diploma-level subjects equivalent to UTS first-year studies.

 

Pathway to University

Upon successful completion of the two-year program, students can transition directly into their selected bachelor’s degree at University of Technology Sydney.

Articulation Requirements:

  • A Level score between 7–13 points (depending on degree)
  • Pass all diploma subjects
  • Gain 24 credit points toward a related diploma at UTS College or a related bachelor’s degree at UTS

 

Qualification Awarded

Students graduate with three A Levels in their chosen academic stream, providing a globally recognised qualification and a direct pathway to university study.
